Before enlisting into National Service on 2 January 2021, I was facing recurring issues of itchy scalp, dandruff and eczema on my face. I vividly recall noticing multiple black spots on my head once I had my hair shaved off. Equally worried, my parents suggested booking an appointment with a dermatologist. After careful examination by the doctors, I was diagnosed with severe scalp psoriasis.
When I received my Grade Point Average (GPA) for my first semester back in university years ago, I was very disappointed and downhearted because it was only a borderline pass. Everyone’s advice for Uni students is to get a GPA as high as possible for the first year because the modules in the first year are usually the easiest.
In Gen 2:15, God made the Garden of Eden and gave it to Adam to take care of it. We are made to work, and we are to enjoy the fruits of our labour (Ecc 5:18-20).
Why then is work so frustrating and unsatisfactory?
Why then do we pine and long for l-o-n-g breaks?
